2024 Taxes and Budget
Council approved the amended 2024 operating budget, which totals $1,339,674. Residential taxes have been set at .0159, and the non-residential tax rate has been set at .032. The operating budget encompasses the following categories: public works, fire, water, well and pumphouse, bylaw, FCSS programming, library, administration, council, government, general, and contract expenses.
2024 Capital Projects
Council approved 2024 capital projects totalling $115,000, which include replacing manholes, purchasing a skid steer, and adding a playground fence.
Surveyor and Subdivision Costs
Council approved that an additional $1000 be allocated toward the costs of surveying and subdividing the park from the arena. Council previously approved that $5000 be allocated toward the subdivision at their March 28, 2024 Council meeting.
Berwyn Municipal Library Income Statement
Council reviewed the Berwyn Municipal Library Income Statement for 2023. The Village of Berwyn provides approximately $25,000 annually to support the library.
Extension of Operating Budget
Council approved a recommendation to extend the operating budget to 2031 in compliance with the recommendations of the viability review conducted by Municipal Affairs. This also supports effective long-term planning, financial responsibility, and the continued focus on fostering transparent governance.
