They are learning of the quality of a resource, and the assets it has to the farming community.

MacKenzie County, the Mighty Peace Watershed alliance and the Mackenzie Applied Research Association is hosting a Dugout Water Quality and Equipment Crossing Tour.

It takes place next Wednesday, starting at the La Crete Riding Arena.

The aim is to tour producers’ fields and learn about dugout water quality, farm crossings and erosion control projects.

With water needed, and being used a lot right now, officials are looking to spread the word on how to effectively have the resource on-hand.

Now is especially the focus of water issues, as drought, wildfires, and possible water shortages are plaguing the region right now, even though rain has fallen.

Authorities are hoping that knowledge is absorbed, just like needed water to make proceedings easier during this season.

The Project Coordinator of the Mighty Peace Watershed Alliance, is Ashley Garnham.
