Fort Vermilion RCMP seek public assistance in locating missing female -update

Mackenzie County, Alta. – Fort Vermillion RCMP report that Sandra Metsikassus has been located safe by search teams. RCMP would like to thank all volunteers including all Alberta Search and Rescue Teams and volunteers from Tallcree First Nation, Little Red River Cree nation, Beaver Nation, Peerless Trout First Nation who were instrumental in safely locating Sandra.

“The community support around this search was amazing,” says Staff Sergeant Kevin Wright of the Fort Vermillion RCMP, “ I would like to thank all volunteers both from the local communities as well as the Search and Rescue teams who spent countless hours giving of their time in this successful operation.”

BACKGROUND

Fort Vermilion RCMP are looking for a missing person.

Officers says that 46-year-old Sandra Metsikassus was last seen at around 6 PM last night at the Buttertown Campground near the Peace River bridge.

Police add that there is a concern for her well-being.

She is described as

– 5 feet 4 inches tall
– 184 pounds
– Stalky build
– Black, chin length, wavy hair
– Brown eyes
– Bump on left side of forehead
– Last seen wearing a black tank top, blue jean shorts and flip flop sandals
