Town Council By-Election
Council voted to hold a by-election for the two vacant Council positions and to appoint Belinda Russell, Acting Municipal Secretary, and Debi Malone, Front Office Supervisor as Returning Officers. Nomination papers can be picked up at the Town office and must be submitted on or before noon on August 6, 2024. The election date is set for September 3, 2024. Graduation Parade
Council reviewed the map for the Grimshaw Public School Graduation Parade on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 3:30 pm. Council extends warm congratulations to the Grimshaw Public School Class of 2024 on their achievements and wish them all the best in their future endeavours. The parade map can be found at grimshaw.ca or the Town of Grimshaw Facebook page.

Visitor Information Centre
Following the review of information and research regarding Visitor Information Centre operations in rural Alberta communities, Council voted to keep the Grimshaw Visitor Information Centre at the Mile Zero Regional Multiplex. Council also directed Administration to collaborate with the Mighty Peace Tourism Association to highlight tourism gems in Grimshaw and provide easier access to tourism information.

North Peace Stampede Sponsorship
Council reviewed a sponsorship request from the North Peace Stampede Association and approved $1,000 in funding to support the North Peace Stampede Professional Rodeo and Chuckwagon Races. The event will be held at the Lac Cardinal Recreation Area from August 2-4, 2024. Learn more at northpeacestampede.com.

Driving Academy Invitation
Council accepted an invitation to the Peace River School Division Driving Academy Grand Opening Celebration on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at PRSD Central Operations in Grimshaw. Councillors who can attend will notify the CAO, Brian Allen.

Regional Energy Committee Meeting
Council reviewed the agenda for the Regional Energy Committee Meeting on July 10, 2024. Mayor Wendy Wald, CAO Brian Allen and a designate will attend the meeting.
