High Level & Fort Vermilion RCMP investigate firearms offences

Boyer Alta. – On Sept. 12, 2024, Fort Vermilion RCMP assisted by members of the RCMP Emergency Response Team, responded to a report of a firearm discharged at a motor vehicle. The investigation determined that upon discovering arson to some bales of hay, a property owner followed a suspicious vehicle to a residence where a verbal confrontation occurred.  The vehicle was subjected to gun fire and immediately left the area.

RCMP were contacted and quickly entered into an investigation. Numerous police resources responded to the Boyer area. RCMP soon obtained a judicially authorized warrant to enter and search a residence. During the investigation, RCMP located and seized a firearm & ammunition that was used in the incident.  The investigation remains open at this time. There is no immediate danger to the public.
