  1. Crews are dealing with a water main break on 54th Street in Grimshaw.
    Authorities say intermittent water outages may occur.
  2. A lot of travelling will be done this long weekend, as the Easter bunny get set to make their rounds in Northwestern Alberta.
    RCMP around the area will be having extra patrols out to make sure everyone is travelling safely.
  3. The second annual KTCEA Spelling Bee took place at the Hall in Red Earth Creek.
    Winners posted on App. The first-place winners head to the Canadian Spelling finals in Toronto at the end of May.
  4. UFA is partnering with the University of Saskatchewan for sponsorship of the University’s Opus pre-accelerator program.
    The curriculum is a startup incubator that provides aspiring entrepreneurs with the tools needed to build successful ventures on campus.
  5. Alberta continues to lead population growth across the country, even as the rate is slowing.
    The province received more than 9,000 newcomers from other parts of Canada in the fourth quarter of 2023, pushing annual interprovincial migration to more than 55,000.
  6. Premier Danielle Smith is among a group of provincial leaders continuing to push back against the federal carbon tax hike.
    Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said his opponents are “misleading Canadians” when they don’t acknowledge the increase coinciding with an increase to the federal rebate.

    Temps will start to increase come Saturday, and will hit the teens by Sunday, just in time to catch the Easter bunny in sunglasses, flip-flops and bermuda shorts.
