  1. High Prairie RCMP is needing help searching for a missing teen.
    13 year-old Darius Ross from Kinuso was last seen Saturday evening leaving the High Prairie Pow Wow.
  2. Schools across the area are celebrating their Mental Health this week.

  3. Local school authorities will have a chance to test out the new K-6 social studies curriculum.
    The Minister of Education for the Province, Demitrios Nicolaides, says supports are available those who want to take part in piloting the draft curriculum. (Interview on App)
  4. Landfills and Waste Management sites around the area will be open this month and accepting various items for safe disposal, as part of Spring Clean-up.
    Atikameg, High Level, Fairview, Northern Sunrise County, and Valleyview, among others start their programs this week.
  5. Despite getting rain last week and potentially this week, Fire restrictions and bans are still in place around the Northwest.
    With most people getting the camper and quads ready for the season, checking the restrictions are a priority.

    Seven teams are present for the male and female divisions. The Opening Ceremony is 8pm tonight, with the Champion crowned on Saturday.
  7. A potential strike between WestJet and its mechanics union appears to have been avoided.
    If the contract is ratified by both sides, it would mark the first approved collective bargaining agreement between WestJet and AMFA.
  8. Canada Post is increasing stamp prices for the third time since 2019, a move the Crown corporation says is a “reality” of its sales-based revenue structure.
    Postage rates are increasing by seven cents per stamp, to 99 from 92 cents, for those sold in booklets, coils and panes.
  9. NHL Playoffs tonight… Game 1, Boston at Florida.
  10. Rick Bowness has announced his retirement from the NHL. Bowness was a coach for eight teams in the NHL, and went to the Stanley Cup Finals in Dallas in 2020, before losing to Tampa Bay.
    Bowness steps away from the Winnipeg Jets, who lost in five games to Colorado in the first round.
  11. The Toronto Blue Jays travel today, before starting a two-game set in Philidelphia tomorrow. The Jays lost two of three in Washington on the weekend.
  12. Canadian quarterback Nathan Rourke is reportedly getting waived by the New England Patriots. The move comes after the Patriots selected quarterback Drake Maye third overall in last week’s draft.
    The Patriots originally claimed Rourke off waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars in December but he did not see any game action.
  13. Rain could fall tonight and into tomorrow in the Northwest. Temps will be varied today, between 10 and 20, but will cool off a little tomorrow because of the moisture.
    Numbers will warm up and dry things out come later in the week.
