  1. Hockey season is FINALLY over… and the Oilers lost! (Sorry)
  2. Alberta Wildfire personnel, aircraft and equipment operators are continuing their work on the fire near Zama City.
    The fire is still classified as out of control, but there hasn’t been any major changes in its size at just under 3400 hectares.
  3. The provincial government has been pushing the federal government to provide support for rebuilding fire damaged homes in Fox Lake.
    Peace River MLA Dan Williams says while the community is a federal responsibility as part of the Little Red River Cree Nation, the province is providing support.
  4. The MD of Peace decides upon unsightly premises bylaw amendments, Fire Department policies, and financial statements for May and June.
    The town of High Prairie appoints a Deputy Mayor, and begins business for the Outstanding Citizen nominations.
  5. The Spring was cool and wet, but the summer may be a different story.

  6. The NDP’s new leader, Naheed Nenshi, announced two changes to the caucus he will lead.
    Christina Gray was named official Opposition leader while Nenshi is still without a seat in the legislature. Rakhi Pancholi will take over as deputy leader.
  7. The Wheatbelt Baseball League tonight. Rycroft is in High Prairie.
  8. The Toronto Blue Jays continue their series in Boston tonight, after coughing up a 4-run lead last night. Kevin Gausman starts for the Jays against Brayan Bello.
  9. You’ll get sunshine on a cloudy day today and tomorrow. Highs this afternoon are around 20 and will get higher tomorrow in the Mackenzie.
    Lows tonight will be in the upper single-digits under partly cloudy skies. There is a slight chance of showers forecasted for Thursday.
