  1. Students are back to school today at St. Thomas More School in Fairview, after the Order was approved.
    The Ministerial Order for the school to be under the umbrella of the Holy Family Catholic Regional Division was signed, just prior to the September Long Weekend.
    In the meantime, facilities have been shipped in, leased and are now in use for students. (Betty Turpin Interview on App)
  2. Alberta Health Services has lifted the Boil Water Advisory for the Village of Donnelly. Water Quality has been restored to acceptable levels for regular consumption.
    The Advisory was issued in mid-August, due to planned maintenance work with the water system.
  3. Parts of the region are turning red today, as Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Awareness Day is observed.
    One way of observance is the pedestrian bridge will have its lights being red for the balance of the day. FASD Awareness day is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary in 2024.
  4. The Canadian Medical Association says there should be better tracking of health-care spending, following agreements the federal government signed with the provinces and territories.
    The doctors’ group has released a new report calling for a greater commitment to tracking improvements in delivery and patient outcomes, citing the complexity of the deals.
  5. Catherine, Princess of Wales, has completed her chemotherapy and is “doing what I can to stay cancer free,” as she plans to return gradually to public life.
  6. The Toronto Blue Jays start a three-game set at home to the New York Mets tonight. Chris Bassitt starts for the Jays against Tylor Megill.
  7. Monday night football in the NFL returns tonight… The New York Jets play in San Fransisco.
  8. In the Professional Women’s Hockey League… Teams names have been announced for the six teams in the League.
    They are the Boston Fleet, the New York Sirens, the Minnisota Frost, the Toronto Sceptres, Les Victoire de Montreal, and the Ottawa Charge.
  9. Rain is on the menu today in the Northwest. Add to that, an Air Quality Advisory in the Big Lakes…
    Highs this afternoon are only in the mid to high teens, with lows in the single-digits, with frost risks in the Peace and MacKenzie.
    The Sunshine returns tomorrow with numbers around 20.
